What is a Fibroscan?

1 in 3 Americans have Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) or Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) also known as steatotic liver disease…and many of them may not know it. Arizona Liver Health uses Fibroscan as an alternative to liver biopsy to detect and stage Fatty Liver Disease. It is an ultrasound-based imaging tool that captures liver stiffness and scarring caused by fatty deposits in the liver.

Fibroscan is painless, non-invasive, requires no sedation, and can be done in as little as minutes which allows our providers to diagnose a patient’s condition during their visit.
