What is Ocaliva?

OCALIVA is a prescription medication for adults with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC). It is used alongside ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) when UDCA alone isn’s effective enough or as a standalone treatment for those who cannot tolerate UDCA. Its impact on survival or symptom improvement in PBC is not yet known.

PBC is an autoimmune disease and chronic condition that causes inflammation and damage to the small bile ducts in the liver, primarily impacting women aged 35 to 60. Common early symptoms of PBC include fatigue and itchy skin.
